Gardener Volunteer

Responsible to: Animal Care Centre Manager / Volunteer Coordinator
Location: RSPCA Animal Rescue Centre, Clough Road, Hull
Time Commitment: Flexible – seasonal help welcomed
Overall Purpose of the Role:
Help us keep our rescue centre grounds safe, clean, and welcoming for animals, staff, and visitors. Your green fingers will help create calm outdoor spaces, support wildlife, and enhance the wellbeing of our rescue animals.
Your Tasks:
- Mow lawns and strim edges
- Weed and tidy flower beds and borders
- Plant flowers and maintain greenery
- Maintain small tools (if trained)
- Remove litter or debris
- Support basic upkeep of outdoor enclosures (no animal handling required)
What We Are Looking For:
- Enjoyment of outdoor work
- Willingness to get stuck in with physical tasks
- Able to work independently or in a team
- Respect for animal safety and biosecurity procedures

Who are we? RSPCA Hull & East Riding Branch is an independent local branch of the national RSPCA. We operate a busy animal rescue centre and deliver outreach projects across Hull and East Yorkshire.

Additional Information:
- Volunteers must be 16 or over
- Volunteers will be asked to provide two references
- Training is provided, including health & safety and safeguarding guidance.
- Volunteers are expected to maintain confidentially of sensitive information and adhere to the Shops policies and procedures.
