The RSPCA Hull & East Riding Branch have been rehabilitating, and rehoming animals for over a century and we rely on the generosity of people to continue our vital work. By leaving a gift in your will, you can help ensure that future generations of animals get the help, love, and protection they deserve.
We are a local independent charity, and it costs our centre over £1100 per day to provide the specialist care needed for our animals. As a branch we are entirely self-funded and receive no government support for our work; running our centre simply would not be possible without the support and kindness of our community and partners.
Leaving a gift in your will to our branch is a wonderful way to help a charity you love and directly support the most vulnerable animals in our region. If you would like to leave a gift in your will to our branch, please make sure to use the exact wording below, as otherwise your gift will be sent to the National RSPCA.
How to leave a gift in your will to our branch
If it is your wish to leave a gift in your will please clearly indicate your wishes by using the wording detailed below:
I give the sum of ________ (or specify a share of residue) to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Hull and East Riding Branch CIO (registered charity number 1209420) and I declare that the receipt of the honorary treasurer or other proper officer of the said Branch shall be a full and sufficient discharge of the said legacy.
If you have any questions or would like more information about leaving a gift in your will, we’re here to help.
Please contact Matthew Wright on (01482) 529906, or alternatively email matt.wright@rspcahull.org.uk. He will be happy to arrange a time or place convenient to you to discuss how legacy giving works and the difference it makes to RSPCA Hull and East Riding.
Further details are available by downloading our Legacy Booklet.
Make a will online
We work with Make a Will Online to make it convenient and secure to leave a gift in your will to us. Just go to www.makeawillonline.co.uk/rspcahullandeastriding to get started. Every will is checked by a fully qualified solicitor. If you have any legal questions you can have those answered too. You’ll also have free access to Capacity Vault – the best way to protect your will from challenge.
Make a will face to face
You should see a solicitor if you have a large estate (above the inheritance threshold here) or complex wishes, or if you have a dementia related illness or are on strong medication. If you would simply rather speak with a solicitor face to face you can find a solicitor at the Law Society.
Please make sure your solicitor uses our full details. Our legal name: Royal Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals Hull and East Riding Branch, our charity number: 232225 and our registered address: RSPCA Hull and East Riding Branch, Clough Road, HULL HU6 7PE
Privacy
When you use this service using the link above we find out information that is very useful for our campaigns: eg, when a will is made, how much is pledged, the types of gifts and your name, year of birth, email and address. Where you provide consent, we are able to say thank you and keep in touch. There is no obligation to leave a gift to charity. We know that some of our supporters want to make a will and leave a gift completely confidentially without us finding out about this. If you want to do this you can use this link to make a will online. Whichever way you choose to remember us we are incredibly grateful!
