Meet Tracy, one of our dedicated Animal Care Assistants at RSPCA Hull and East Riding. Tracy has been an invaluable member of our team for just over two years, bringing passion, expertise, and a deep love for animals to everything she does. Let’s get to know her a bit better and learn about her journey with us!

How long have you been working for RSPCA Hull and East Riding?

“I’ve been working for the RSPCA as an animal care assistant at the Hull and East Riding branch for just over two years. It feels like time has flown by, and every day brings new challenges and moments of joy with the animals.”

Tell us how you got the role?

“I saw the job advertised and thought it sounded like the perfect fit. I applied and was lucky enough to make it through the interview process. It’s been a rewarding experience ever since!”

What have been some highlights from working here?

“One of the most rewarding aspects of working at the RSPCA is rehoming our older animals or those with complex needs. Seeing these animals get a second chance at happiness and finding their forever homes is always an emotional and fulfilling moment. Knowing that we’ve made a real difference in their lives makes all the hard work worth it.”

Have you adopted a pet from us? If so, please tell us about their previous circumstances and the life they’re living now.

“Yes, I adopted Turbo, a greyhound, over 18 months ago. I initially took him home to monitor his breathing after he had a reaction to surgery, but I knew pretty quickly that he was meant to be part of my family. Turbo was one of more than 30 greyhounds that had been seized by the RSPCA inspectorate in a major rescue operation, which resulted in a successful court case. It was a difficult past for him, but he’s now living his best life!

Turbo loves lounging on the sofa, spending time with his staffie friend (an older staffie that my sister adopted from the RSPCA), and of course, going on holidays. He’s a big fan of zoomies on the beach! I’m so proud to give him a comfortable and loving home after all he’s been through.”

Have you got any fun facts about you?

“I’ve done a tandem skydive! There’s truly no greater feeling than free-falling through the sky. It was an unforgettable experience and definitely one of my biggest thrills!”

Tracy’s passion for animal welfare and her deep connection with the animals in our care shine through in everything she does. Whether she’s caring for animals in need or providing them with a loving home, Tracy’s dedication makes a real difference at the RSPCA Hull and East Riding. Thank you, Tracy, for all that you do!
