Meet Shelly, our Events and Fundraising Officer at RSPCA Hull and East Riding. Shelly is a recent addition to the team, helping us raise vital funds to rehabilitate and rehome cats and dogs.

Meeting new people, animals & making connections sorry that’s 3…

In your own words, what is your role at the RSPCA Hull & East Riding?
To be part of the team & achieve the common goal of supporting the animals that come into our care. My focus being on raising funds, raising awareness, forming collaborations & creating the fun stuff for the community to get involved with & raise lots of pennies !!

Part of your job is encouraging people to fundraise – how do they go about doing so?
So many ways from taking part in events & being sponsored, Donations to our shops, Collection boxes at various locations. Creating greater awareness through attending various key events throughout the city & local area to share what we do & how people can get involved & raise funds.

What events are you involved in organizing and what would be you dream future event for the charity?
At the moment I am working on the Animal Celebration in collaboration with the Hull Minster.

How would you describe your average day?
Interesting and no 2 days are the same. Meeting new people & animals, sharing what we do.

What is your favourite, dogs or cats ?
Too difficult … I love them both
