This Easter, while many were enjoying a well-earned break, the National RSPCA sprang into action to support a major rescue effort involving over 80 spaniels discovered in poor conditions in a multiple-dog household. We joined forces with other Local RSPCA branches across the region to ensure these dogs got the safety and care they desperately needed.
We personally welcomed four spaniel puppies and one young adult—now affectionately named Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Cloud. These five new arrivals brought our total number of puppies in our care to 12, and given this challenge we put out a urgent appeal for help – and the response was immense!

The needs of the spaniels were immediate and urgent with each dog needing:
- Full health checks and vaccinations
- Flea and worm treatment
- Neutering or spaying
- Plenty of nutritious puppy food
- And, of course, endless love and care
All five spaniels have now settled in beautifully, and their personalities are beginning to shine. The four puppies have been given a clean bill of health, and Summer will soon be spayed. While they’re not quite ready for adoption yet, they’ll be looking for loving homes soon—so please keep an eye on our Find a Pet page below. As some of the spaniels will need to return for follow-up treatments, we are kindly asking adopters to live within an hour’s drive of our Hull centre.
As mentioned our supporters were amazing, we’ve received vital donations of puppy food and supplies, and lots of financial donations to support with veterinary costs and expenses associated with full kennels. Your generosity truly makes a difference—especially as we are a locally funded branch and receive minimal financial support from the national RSPCA. See a few of the donation pictures below.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us. Whether you’ve donated supplies, shared our story, or supported us financially—you are part of their second chance.
