There is a long tradition of businesses being involved in their local communities and supporting charity organisations. These days, it’s known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and has become an essential consideration for businesses concerned about more than just the bottom line.

Organisations and those who commission services are now looking beyond profit to consider their wider impact on society, the environment, and their local communities.

One way in which businesses can take greater responsibility is by partnering with a charity such as RSPCA Hull and East Riding Branch CIO.

Animal Welfare and CSR

In the UK, around 69% identify as animal lovers, with 60% of households owning a pet. This makes animal welfare a cause that can connect with a company’s employees, customers, and stakeholders on a deep personal level.

Supporting animal welfare demonstrates compassion and social responsibility, strengthening your company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.

This is increasingly important for businesses as they look to deliver value to their communities, but for our business partners, getting involved with supporting animal welfare brings its own rewards.

Partnering with RSPCA Hull & East Riding

The RSPCA in Hull and East Riding works to care for, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for animals in need across the region. Caring for abandoned and neglected pets, our branch delivers vital services that rely heavily on community and corporate support.

Through forming partnerships with local businesses, we can expand our reach and continue delivering care for animals in need. In return for their support, local businesses gain the opportunity to deepen their social impact and be part of positive action in their communities.

Flexible Ways to Support Our Work

There are a number of different ways that businesses of all sizes can get involved with our work:

Employee Wellbeing and Pet Support

Our tailored well-being packages can support your employees with their pets. By helping to address common behavioural issues such as separation anxiety, poor recall, and reactivity, pet owners can feel more confident and less stressed, particularly during the workday. Reducing worry about pets at home can lower stress, improve focus, and contribute to better well-being.

Practical behavioural support can make everyday activities such as walking the dog more enjoyable, strengthening the bond between owner and animal.

Corporate Volunteering and Team Building

Every year we welcome businesses to our animal centre and the wider organisation to take part in volunteering days. This gives your team the opportunity to support our charity with vital tasks, getting hands-on experience meeting our animal residents, while building stronger relationships with colleagues in a meaningful environment. Flexible half and full-day options are available.

Make A Lasting Impact Through Sponsorship

Sponsorship enables us to carry out our work. It costs around £1500 per day to run our animal centre and to provide the specialist care needed for our animals. We receive no government funding for our work and are entirely self-funded.

Through business and individual sponsorship, we can fund kennel and cattery spaces, provide care, rehome more animals, deliver community education, support our pet food bank and support society interventions that help a pets whole family unit. This not only improves the lives of more animals in need, but provides companies with visible, meaningful involvement in their local community.

You can sponsor a kennel or pod for just £1500 per annum, providing our animals with a safe space for rehabilitation and rehoming, free from cruelty and neglect.

In return, we’ll put your business name on our kennels or cat pods and company logo on our website homepage. Businesses also get two staff well-being/volunteering days or the opportunity to sponsor Petwise Education Sessions to local schools throughout the year.

We can also give you and your team a tour of our site within the first month of sponsorship. It’s a great way to come and see what we do and hear about how your support will help us do even more.

Long-term sponsorship is hugely important to our work, enabling us to plan ahead with confidence.

In-kind Support: Sharing Skills, services and experience

In‑kind support is a valuable way for businesses to contribute practical skills, services or resources while achieving visible social impact. From professional expertise and maintenance support to donated goods and materials, in‑kind contributions help keep our self‑funded animal centre operating safely and effectively.

For businesses, this offers a cost‑effective way to strengthen CSR and ESG commitments, engage employees through purpose‑driven action, and demonstrate local leadership. At the same time, it allows more of our charitable funds to be focused directly on animal care, rehabilitation and rehoming — creating shared value for both our partners and the wider community.

Creating Lasting Change in Your Community

Building a strong CSR partnership with the RSPCA Hull and East Riding Branch extends beyond financial contributions, and any positive marketing benefits businesses may gain.

Corporate Social Responsibility partnerships allow businesses to make a genuine difference, aligning with a cause that resonates widely, engaging employees, strengthening their brand, and supporting vital animal welfare work.

Working with our partners we can create lasting change to ensure that animals in need receive the care and protection they deserve, now and in the future.
