This Pet Memorial Day (Sunday 14 September), RSPCA Hull & East Riding is proud to join the national Not Just A Pet campaign – raising awareness of pet bereavement and creating space to remember the animals who mean so much to us.

For many, the death of a pet is like losing a member of the family. Yet, research shows more than half of people who’ve lost a pet felt they couldn’t talk openly about their grief.

We want to change that.

This Pet Memorial Day, we’re encouraging our supporters, volunteers, and staff to share their pet’s photo on social media using #NotJustAPet & #RSPCAHullCares and tagging RSPCA Hull & East Riding. We’ll come together online to create a virtual memorial wall, showing that every pet mattered and every memory counts.

If you’d like to take part but prefer not to post publicly, you can email us fundraiser@rspcahull.org.uk  your pet’s photo and we’ll honour them on our channels.

Grief for a pet is real. It matters. And no one should have to face it alone.
