On Friday (15th November) we celebrated the 200th Anniversary of the RSPCA with a special dinner event and launched the Branches’ next three-year strategy. This event, held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Hull, brought together supporters, corporate partners, and advocates dedicated to the cause of animal welfare, raising awareness of our achievements and future plans.

This gathering was not only a celebration of our heritage but a powerful reminder of the impact that we, as a community, can have when we unite for a shared mission. Since our founding, RSPCA Hull & East Riding has been at the forefront of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals, thanks to the generosity and compassion of our supporters. As we look to the future, we proudly presented a strategy centered on quality care, education, and advocacy, aiming to transform the lives of animals and people alike.

Highlights from Our Journey and Vision for the Future:

  • A Legacy of Care: Since opening our doors in 1938, RSPCA Hull & East Riding has grown to meet the evolving needs of our community. With major redevelopments in 1974 and a £1 million investment in 2019, we have continually enhanced our facilities to provide the best possible care for animals in need.
  • Innovation and Community Impact: We believe that animals can change lives. Our recent projects—such as trauma recovery initiatives for veterans and ex-offenders, and educational programs teaching young people responsible pet ownership—demonstrate how human-animal bonds can create positive change across the region.
  • A Vision for the Future: Our new strategy emphasizes comprehensive care, education, and advocacy to ensure every animal receives the dignity, love, and support they deserve.

Join Us in Our Mission

As we move forward, we invite our supporters to deepen their involvement in our mission to be the voice for animals. There are many ways to make a difference:

  • Become a Charity Partner: Join our growing network of corporate partners dedicated to making a lasting impact.
  • Support Our Fundraising Efforts: Contributions will aid in building a new centre, ensuring that our legacy of care can endure for generations to come.
  • Share Our Story: Help spread the word about the critical work we do and inspire others to get involved.

The success of our 200th Anniversary Dinner is a testament to the strength of our community. Together, we are not only changing our lives but creating a legacy of compassion and care that will endure for generations. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this celebration possible and look forward to a future filled with hope, opportunity, and lasting impact for animals and our community.
