RSPCA Hull & East Riding is teaming up with Ganton School’s Chop & Change project to host a feel‑good fundraising evening at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hull between 6pm-9pm on Thursday 7th May, bringing together great food, community spirit and positive social impact.
The event will raise vital funds for RSPCA Hull & East Riding, supporting the charity’s work rehabilitating and rehoming animals locally, while also shining a spotlight on Chop & Change – an innovative hospitality project helping young people with severe learning difficulties gain meaningful work experience and pathways into employment.
Guests can look forward to a relaxed and welcoming evening featuring street food from Food for Cowboys, DoubleTree by Hilton Hull, and Cranswick’s Beyond the Hog, alongside free welcome drinks on arrival, live music, the RSPCA Hull and East Riding Pup Quiz and fundraising activities throughout the night. A fully stocked bar, alcohol service and free hotel parking will also be available.
At the heart of the event are students from Chop & Change, a Ganton School initiative created to address the significant employment gap for young people with severe learning difficulties. Working alongside professional chefs and hospitality teams, Chop & Change provides real‑world experience in kitchens and front‑of‑house roles, helping students build confidence, independence and employability skills.
On the night, students will take on a variety of hospitality roles, welcoming guests, assisting with drinks service, making cocktails, helping to prepare and serve food, and supporting service around the room. They will work side by side with the DoubleTree by Hilton team, gaining hands‑on experience in a live hotel environment.
The £20 tickets support the continued delivery of Chop & Change. Funds raised through raffles and other activities on the evening will go directly to RSPCA Hull & East Riding.
