As 2025 draws to a close, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to every business partner and professional who has supported RSPCA Hull & East Riding this year. Together, you have strengthened our work, lifted our teams, and changed the lives of the animals who rely on us for safety, rehabilitation and hope.
This year has shown us what can happen when businesses decide to stand with their local, self-funded RSPCA branch: lasting impact, genuine community connection and change that reaches far beyond our centre gates.
A Year of Corporate Kindness, Leadership and Collaboration
Hull Business Week 2025 set the tone for a year of meaningful partnership. We were proud to be invited to speak at the launch event — showcasing our Revolutionary, Remarkable, Resourceful and Real work — and to demonstrate how businesses can support animal welfare through sponsorship, in-kind services, volunteering, shared projects and leadership development.
Throughout the year, we saw this support flourish:
- Nine businesses sponsored kennels or cattery pods, ensuring safe, warm spaces for animals beginning their recovery.
- Ten businesses joined us for Team Volunteer Days, bringing energy, teamwork and a willingness to get stuck in — whether cleaning, painting, gardening or enrichment activities.
- Countless companies donated stock to our charity shops, directly boosting the income that funds veterinary care, rehabilitation and rehoming.
- In-kind support poured in: roofs fixed, drains cleared, machines repaired, fencing mended, storage offered and professional skills shared — all helping keep our centre running smoothly.
Our partnership with Future Humber led to a Talent+ Leadership Event, where local businesses explored how our HEART Values — Humanity, Excellence, Accountability, Responsiveness and Teamwork — shape our culture and decision-making. Sharing our values in a corporate leadership setting was a proud moment: a reminder that charities can also lead, teach and inspire.
Stories of Support That Made a Real Difference
This year, we witnessed countless acts of kindness from businesses of all sizes — each one leaving a lasting impact on animals and the people who care for them.
- Smailes Goldie -Their Team Volunteer Day saw staff spend hands-on time improving our grounds and animal areas. Their enthusiasm and teamwork made a visible difference, helping create a cleaner, calmer space for the animals.
- One SC Media – Providing media and content support, One SC Media helped us tell powerful stories about our mission, our animals and the people behind the scenes. Their creative talent amplified our reach and helped raise awareness across the region.
- KCOM – KCOM’s ongoing commitment included volunteer days, awareness support and hands-on help at the centre. Their team brought warmth and willingness — proof that long-term partnerships build long-term impact.
- Hull Self Store – By accepting donations of unwanted items on our behalf, Hull Self Store helped transform people’s decluttering into fundraising for animal care. Their support ensured a steady flow of quality goods to our charity shops — helping us raise vital income and keeping items out of landfill.
These stories join many more moments of generosity and kindness from across Hull & East Riding.
Everyday Acts of Kindness — The Small Things That Change Everything
We’ve also been humbled by an incredible range of day-to-day support:
- Prim & Proper Grooming, giving hours of gentle and expert grooming to some of our most vulnerable dogs — offering dignity, comfort and a crucial first step in their recovery.
- Rescue Jet Drainage Solutions, arriving urgently to clear our flooded car park under the watchful supervision of Fiyero the puppy.
- D3 Office, donating beautiful Bone Present Sacks that will help raise funds in our shops.
- Jollyes Pet Store and Pets at Home Clough Road, both donating huge quantities of pet food and supplies to support both our animals and our Community Food Bank.
- Northcarr Plumbing, who fixed a leaking tap without hesitation — proving that the smallest practical fixes can lift enormous pressure.
- Ben the Roofer, who repaired our cattery roof simply because he cared, creating a warm, dry, safe space for our cats.
Every story, every effort, every act of compassion has contributed to a year filled with hope.
