Bella (13) and George (11) arrived at our care center after their previous owner, overwhelmed by his own struggles and disabilities, realized he couldn’t provide the care they needed following his wife’s passing. While he tried his best, it was clear they required more attention, both physically and emotionally, than he could manage on his own.

But that was just the start. Their health needed a lot of attention, and after a visit to the vet, we weren’t sure what treatments they might need or if they’d be able to recover fully. Despite the uncertainty, we made the decision to move forward with their treatment, covering the costs of their care, because we knew they deserved the chance to be happy and healthy again.

After several visits to the vet, including Bella’s successful lump removal surgery and George’s eye treatment, Bella and George were finally ready for their next chapter. That’s when Hazel entered their story.

Hazel, who had come to our Christmas open day and expressed interest in adopting an older pair of dogs, was instantly drawn to Bella and George. The following day, she returned to fill out the perfect match form, and her love for them only grew with each visit. She was incredibly patient as the dogs finished their final vet checks, ensuring they were ready for adoption.

Hazel’s commitment to Bella and George has been unwavering, and we’re so grateful for the time she’s spent with them. She’s even been working with Mike through one-on-one sessions to ensure a smooth transition into her home. We know this will be a beautiful new beginning for all of them.

A huge thank you to Tracy, whose dedication and support at the start of this journey made it all possible. And of course, a special thank you to Hazel for opening her heart and home to Bella and George.

This story wouldn’t be complete without acknowledging the incredible care and compassion our team provides for every animal that walks through our doors. Bella and George are just one example of the difference we can make with your support.

We wish Bella and George all the happiness in the world in their new home, and we are so thankful for the kindness of adopters like Hazel. If you’re considering adopting or supporting our mission, please know that you’re making a lasting impact on the lives of animals in need.
